"Chemical Intelligence" by Adam Mitchell will be featured in the international exhibit, Surreal Salon 15

After a tough jurying process, I will have work in this exhibition.  I'm excited to have been accepted into the show!

"SURREAL SALON TO CELEBRATE FIFTEENTH YEAR IN JANUARY"

"Surreal Salon - the annual exhibition that celebrates the pop-surrealist/lowbrow movement - returns to Baton Rouge Gallery (“BRG”) for its 15th year in January 2023."

"The exhibition, held in partnership with the LSU School of Art, shares the work of dozens of artists each year from across the globe, each hand-picked by a Special Guest Juror via a blind jurying process. Artists across the globe, working in any media, and of all backgrounds are invited to submit works for consideration before October 27, 2022."

"All works featured in the exhibition will be selected via a blind jurying process by Special Guest Juror Marco Mazzoni. The exhibition will be on view at BRG January 3 - 26, 2023."

"Now entering its 15th year, Surreal Salon is aimed at engaging audiences in an art experience like no other in the region by highlighting the growing popularity and exceptional quality of the pop-surrealist/lowbrow movement. Submissions will be reviewed via a blind jurying process that will ensure that works are selected based solely on their artistic merit (the juror does not see an artist’s name until after selections for the exhibition have been made)."

"In addition to a cash prize, the artist whose work is ultimately named “Best in Show” by the exhibition’s Special Guest Juror will be honored in an upcoming juxtapoz.com editorial focusing on the artist behind the work and the piece itself. Over the years, Surreal Salon has enlisted well-known and well-respected jurors for Surreal Salon – including the co-founder of Juxtapoz Magazine, Greg Escalante, Andrew Hosner of Thinkspace, and internationally-renowned artists such as Ron English, Camille Rose Garcia, Josh “Shag” Agle, Elizabeth McGrath, Dan Quintana, Carrie Ann Baade, and Greg “Craola” Simkins - to assist in making Surreal Salon as artistically engaging as possible. That tradition is once again renewed with artist Marco Mazzoni filling this role (thanks in part to a partnership with the Louisiana State University School of Art). He will personally curate the works to be included in the exhibition."

"Surreal Salon 15 Special Guest Juror Marco Mazzoni is an artist based in Milan, Italy best known for his vibrant and dramatic colored pencil drawings. Mazzoni's work holds a strong interest in flora and fauna, often depicting subjects surrounded by colorful plants, birds, and more. His works have been seen in galleries across Europe and North America as well as publications like The New Yorker, Juxtapoz Magazine, Hi Fructose Magazine, Les Arts Dessines, and Arte Mondadori."
